ADAPTATION

BAOBAO is initially flat when it is empty. A unique contour of the bag is created once it has been filled up.

Each bag will mould itself and follows the shape of its contents.

With this characteristics, ADAPTATION is taken as the concept of the retail space.

VOLUME ADAPTATION

The design of the wall is to illustrate the image of the bag being filled up - the shape of the bag adapts to the content.

As a result, both volumes act as display features for the products. Both of the walls complement with each other, showing the adaptation.

GRAVITY

 ADAPTATION

Magnet is used for cladding the products onto the wall. It is placed inside a plastic bag, and stuff into the bag to be displayed.

This method is used because most shops display bag by perching on the shelf. But they do not 'perch' when they are worn; they hang. For this reason, the idea of magnets is conceived so that they can be 'stuck' to steel walls.

TEMPERATURE

ADAPTATION

Photochromic paint is used on the steel wall.

Slight change of color is seen on the wall due to the intensity of the lighting.

PRESSURE

ADAPTATION

Inspired by Rubik's Twist, the display features are designed according to the twisting structure.

Different configuration and position can be made to adapt different seasons and style.

To convey the message of 'adaptation', interactive mirror art by Daniel Rozin is used as the highlight of the window display. The piece reflects any object or person in front of it, moving fast enough to create live animation. By tilting the mirrors mozaics, human silhouettes in low resolution are created.

Quoted from Daniel, "This piece has no content without the viewer," his work has perfectly defined adaptation of design and users.
